This artwork is from Patrick Lajoie’s ‘Submergence’ series, which took the artist on travels to Italy, the US and Iceland in order to capture scenes of public bathing in various hot springs and spring fed pools. Made with his signature image transfer on wood technique, these unique works are infused with a warmth in both hue and texture, created by the golden cast of the wood as well as the delicate wood grain apparent beneath paler areas of pigment. To create them the artist employs a hands-on process that causes the pigments (or image) from an archival print to transfer to the surface of a wood panel. Although he has refined his method to achieve excellent transfer results, this process retains a slightly imperfect quality that is intrinsic to the technique and can be seen primarily in a softness around the edges of the image. Finished works are sealed with a hand brushed and buffed artist’s wax.

Each limited edition artwork is signed and numbered by the artist on the back, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. FREE SHIPPING to USA & CANADA, discounted shipping WORLDWIDE.
